Why Inadequate Support in Agricultural Sector?

For a cup of years now we have experienced  influx of supports from governments, development partners and individuals in HIV/AIDS, Malaria and TB but not much and sometimes extremely no support to peasants to improve agriculture. This becomes a challenge of our day since agriculture is a back born not for Tanzanians (as formerly stated by Late Mwalimu Nyerere) but for all human beings across the world. We need to eat in order to survive. Whether someone is sick or not, she/he needs food and nutrition for growth and hence life. Currently, cany grants are channeled to HIV/AIDS interventions but at last the patients taking ARVs lack food and nutrition for life continuity.

When you go in rural areas of Bukoba, people undergo food scarcity. Although, we continue playing our roles to increase food productivity, more initiatives are required to be put in place for some development partners to start giving in to provide grants to civil society organizations at grassroots level dealing with agricultural growth for effective and sustainable improvement of quality of life of people in urban and rural areas.
