Grant Support for Our Capacity Building and Revolving Fund to AIDS Women Families.
Children Care Development Organisation (CCDO) is looking a partnership for the new designed project to empower Iringa youngsters and destitute women coming from poor families. CCDO is involved in capacity building of rural poor women and youth group and extension of Revolving fund to them. We help the poor rural communities help themselves. Our mission is to empower and improve the poor people’s opportunities to access skills and revolving fund to eradicate the root causes of poverty on local communities so as to enable them attain self-reliance sustainability through setting up their individual viable/profitable micro business to generate income for their families. Formal credit institutions e.g. commercial bank deem these rural poor women credit risks because they lack collateral consequently they have no access to the business loan to help their self employed activities grow. We plan to provide services to poor, low income women especially rural clients lacking access to other financial institution. So we have a distinct commitment to reaching the poor.
The youngsters in Iringa have got economic and social problems. The economic problem is lack of employment opportunities. Even though youth population is dominant in the town, there are no enough jobs to absorb them and there is very high unemployment. As a result the youth do involve in illegal activities such as theft, gangsters, kidnapping and so on to sustain their lives. Common social problems are lack of recreation or entertainment centers, inadequate social facilities (health, education, and housing), etc. The lack of micro credit soft loans provision and recreation center has led to engagement of youth in bad habits such as chewing chat (local stimulant plant) and drinking alcohol.
In the study made by youth, sport and culture department of Iringa region 75% of the youth indicated that the reason for problems caused by youth in the town is lack of soft loans provision and entertainment centers for them. The same study also shows that 66.7% the youth spend their time chewing chat, as there is no place for recreation. In the study 75% of the youth indicated that establishment of youth center could alleviate the problems of the above-mentioned bad habits.
To observe the problems of youth one can easily go to the streets of Iringa and observe the army of youth wondering joblessly. In every streets of Iringa it is common to see them in a very large number crowding the streets without any work .If these are mobilized in organized manner, they can really bring about great change in their lives and in the society. Youth at present is being scorched by HIV/AIDS. In Iringa town the report from Iringa Government Hospital indicates that the pandemic is as high as -11%. Besides 64% of the hospital HIV/AIDS patients occupy beds. The youth are one of the prime victims of the pandemic. Thus it is essential to act as soon as possible to reverse the deteriorating situation of the youth at least to maintain the sustenance of our generation. Their potentials could be used for the development of the nation if attention is paid to them. They could also contribute to attainment of our development agenda that we are hoping to attain. Recognizing this, we do present this proposal to the development partners to fund this project so that the youth can contribute to the betterment of their own life and of the community.
However, to solve the problem above, the CCDO management has already launched a new project of supporting those groups living with poverty and underemployment and to start with we already formed 67 women groups and each group is made up with 6 people’s and to make the total of 620 CCDO Women SACCOs members. Each group has its leaders, but due to the financial constraints to afford to meet all needs of this formed groups we request any humanitarian to support those members so as to promote their living standards in order to let them to afford to pay school fees to their school most vulnerable children. Again, the selected youth in this project are those considered as the headed families in their homes and all of them are under 16 years old. Medical Equipment Partnership for International Children Health and AIDS Research Center in Tanzania.
Tanzania has achieved substantial gains in the field of health during the last three decades despite modestly declining poverty and inadequate health services. However, Infant Mortality Rate (IMR) and maternal mortality ratio (MMR) continue to be unacceptably high compared to many other developing countries, with persisting socioeconomic differentials. While access to family planning is increasing, access to three other pillars of safe motherhood namely antenatal care, clean and safe delivery, and essential obstetric care, remain largely unfulfilled. The objective of this medical equipment partnership application is to support the major maternal, neonatal and child health (MNCH) interventions through the provision of medical equipment kits, HIV Test equipment, laboratory equipment, surgical equipment, clinical analyzer products, ultrasound scanner products, EGG machine. Autoclave sterlizer, medical consumable, hospital furniture, laboratory chemicals, hospital ambulance vehicle, monitoring equipment products, X-ray computed tomography and laboratory glasswares and other equipment that you think can be helpful to our International Children Health and AIDS Research Center.
International Children Health and AIDS Research Center that was been constructed by the Children Care Development Organisation (CCDO) in 2011 from its local sources of fund coming from CCDO internet centers, CCDO Kihesa ICT Center and School, and CCDO Tailoring Center is constructed to address issues of primary health care and health education for about 2.3 million Tanzanian (6% of the total) in rural area and with the major purpose to reduce infant mortality rate from 80 per 1000 live births to 50 per 1000 live births, to reduce maternal mortality rate from 4.50 to 2.80 per 1000 live births, to provide health and nutrition education to the community people for prevention of AIDS, STD, malaria, tuberculosis and HIV, to raise nutritional level of pregnant women through health programmes, to give support on sanitation and pure drinking water, to provide nutritious food to children and to develop the health status of the women and children and make them aware socially to live with dignity and honour.
The major reason of the establishment of this International Children Health and AIDS Research Center is to provide; health care to rural communities through primary health care (PHCs), outpatient services, preventive services including vaccination, maternity and postpartum and well-baby care, common laboratory tests, health education, health training programmes, health care clinic services, HIV and AIDS prevention , counseling services, family planning education, to support childhood and breast cancer patients, health education and disease prevention, emergency care and stabilization of patients for transport to Iringa referral hospital, some inpatient services, and our target is to serve 17,000 inhabitants of Iringa District and the surrounding villages of Mkimbizi, Igeleke, Semtema, Mgongo, Nduli, Kilolo,Kigonzile, Igingilanyi, Mtwivila, Semtema and Isimani division in this year 2012/2013.
This is because, the people of the rural area are the most under privileged downtrodden mass, for them quality health care is still a dream to come. Though there are big hospitals in Dar es Salaam city, Mwanza city and Kilimajaro region accessing the same by them is not an easy one. Coming to town a problem and more so in case of the sick and needy as the cost of transportation, stands in between. The only remedy would be take the hospital to a rural area and provide a state of art hospital, with all facility, including 200 beds and such other facility that would make it par with the best ones that are available to the urban masses. This hospital would act as a health hub for the villages and other Tanzanian regions that surround the project area.
However, the International Children Health and AIDS Research hospital is lacking the medical equipments outlined in this Partnership application although everything is already within the hospital as such water facilities, electricity facilities, and houses for medical and Nurses doctors including accommodation for international medical volunteers.
And in this hospital we already connected 45 computers and with Early Detection & Prevention System (EDP2000) soft ware system and this software will provide a probable diagnosis conditions based on the complainants narrated by the patient along with the results of a few relevant laboratory tests and the patients medical history. This software is designed to be extremely user friendly. Therefore, persons involved in primary health care in remote, rural and backward areas will be able to use it easily..
