WOMEN ADVANCEMENT

MAEC in collaboration work with its partners intends to address the challenges by influencing- education policies to children whereby 1205 children are were facilitated to go school on the year 2009/2010.Also MAEC intends to eliminate challenges that faces women, children and gender human rights. Also MAEC intends to reduce the impact of Drug Abuse and HIV/AIDS  through the mobilization of community.

Major Alliance Education Centre (MAEC) was been enforcing the education to both genders that is boys and girls. That is because some of the communities are not regarding the education to girls. It needs the gender mobilization.Gender in education falls under MDG3 and gender equality. Also the achievement of primary education to all children is a universal goal.Millenium Development Goal no 2 which aims that by 2015 children every where, boys and girls alike, will be able to complete a full course of primary schooling. Primary education which falls under MDG goal 2,and our formal goal in Tanzania i.e. MKUKUTA Cluster 2 which falls under MDG 1,this distinction tends to be maintained in policy, strategy and practice. From the study’s findings, there is a clear connection household poverty and access to education. All in all our organization deals much with education and advocacy. Therefore by promoting education to girl child will be the achieving of the Millenium Development Goals, i.e. Goal 2: Achieve universal primary education, in its target 2. which ensure that, by 2015, children everywhere, boys and girls alike, will be able to complete a full course of primary schooling, Goal 3: Promote gender equality and empower women, which in its target 3A to: Eliminate gender disparity in primary and secondary education, and in all levels of education no later than 2015 and the poverty eradication MDG 1.MAEC believes that by giving the education to girl children will enforce all Millennium Development Goals to be achieved since women are the once having the high responsibilities in the community than men.

Also MAEC was been educating the community members against the women discrimination through the community mobilization, that is because MAEC guarantees equality of all people to the enjoyment of their civil and political rights and expressly prohibit gender based discrimination. The term discrimination in MAEC means affording different treatment to different persons on various grounds including sex.

Therefore we raise our voice to other activism organizations in the World to join us in demanding the women rights, that is rights to work, right to education, right to health etc.
