The CCDO is welcoming hot discussion to develop the means to stop sex tradining on children due to the dicovered findings from Iringa Region, Tanzania. It was said that poverty and the lack of ability to generate income lie at the root of the child labour and trafficking problem. Poor parents are forced to sell their children in order to survive. Lack of education makes a child an easy target for being cheated into the sex trade. While others said that, children have enormous psychological problems. When trafficked, they are forced into prostitution or begging on the streets. As result, many children become addicted to glue-sniffing and drugs that are provided by the traffickers. How can we focus on supporting the psychological needs of the children and youth victims in this area? |
