Food insecurity and nutritional status has several effects such as an increased rate of school children an attendances and poor performance, increased in the illiteracy rate, increased risk of HIV infection, increased school girls pregnancies and risk of expelled adolescent girls resorting to prostitution. The CEDO suggests promoting school feeding as a means to improve school children attendance and reduce short-term hunger and improve leaning outcomes and to educate school children and other community members on nutrition to scaling up nutrition in Nzega District.
