reaching out children in refugee camp Uganda, bidibidi on february 12-16,2020

We heard people speaking about a lot of hardship people go through in the refugee camps.
And this year our hearts were burdened to serve children at Bidibidi refugee camp in Uganda,
The refugees here are from South Sudan, so they speak Juba Arab and other native languages but English is the medium of instruction at school so they speak English as well.

It is said that Uganda is the country that host a lot  of refugees in the world'
And we wondered if there is something we can bless God's heart in the camp, and indeed it was a blessing to be there.
We wondered to see a lot of children moving every where, and they almost doesn't have cloths to wear
There are thousands of youth roaming around and a big number of women, that needs entrepreneurial skills and be involved into different activities to make themselves busy for something.

We visited the school by the name ALFA nursery and primary school, and the church KULUPI WOSHIP CENTRE, they are doing an incredible job to teach a lot of children despite the scarcity in everything,
They don't have scholastic materials, such as chalks, pens and pencils, text books, reading books, kids games equipment.
They don't have a first AID KIT,
They don't have enough teachers
They can not feed children at school since the school in established by a church at the camp as well that can not support in the mean time.

WE LENT THAT
People and the church at the camp need us more than we can ever imagine, They need our prayers(for their mother country) and for UN as well for they provide a lot for them

People are beater for what they have experienced on their way to the camp ,their parents, children, wives were dead because of hunger sickness, long distance walking  and violence

They face sickness and diseases, since the environment is different from South Sudan but also they don't have enough medicines in the hospitals.

The church need support from the body of Christ, to encourage them to remind them the promises of God, to tell them how God love them and to bring the right image of Christ again to believers through showing love and serving them.

WHAT DID WE DO
We had an inspirational talk at school chapel on our first day, we meet children from kindergarten and primary school and we had a word of encouragement. About 300 hundred children attended

In the afternoon we trained Sunday school teachers, on child's psychology and the ways that we can use sports to shape and interact the youth and  children about 50 teachers attended.

The next day we did a compassion day, we visited elderly families with children aiming at teaching  them how they can serve back their community, So we cleaned the elderly house, we washed their clothes, clean utensils and wash their feet. Lastly we shared with them the word of God and prayed with them and for them. Almost Two hundred children involved on the task

In the afternoon, we had GIRLS TALK and BOYS TALK, we gave them the chance to ask any questions that they have never had someone to ask, we gave them the chance to freely and enjoyably learn from everybody's experience, about 120 girls attended also about 80 boys attended, We again encouraged them through their journey to achieve their goals. That it might not be an easy path but  VICTORY is what we are promised by GOD.

In the evening we had Game bonanza but also an opportunity for our Sunday school trainees and teachers to practically learn how to interact people through sports. About 250 children and youth attended, and it was so fun.

On our last day, it was Sunday, the kids were dancing on church, every one was so happy and feeling loved, we again served the Sunday service, the message was about "FATHERLY LOVE OF GOD" encouraging that our father is close to us, he hears our prayers, he is able to provide, he is a miracle working God, nothing impossible to him and that he love us so much, his heart is broken when we are broken...and nothing we do less or more for him to even love us more. And we prayed for and with them.

In the evening we had a prayer session for South Sudan as the country, we prayed for a lot of things including its peace and stability, but also we prayed for Uganda and UN as the host that God will bless them even more, we used two ours for prayer session, At the end they prayed for our team that was there and it was really a blessing.

THE RESPONCE
Was really good, people were hungry to learn and enjoyed our time together.

THE MESSAGE TO YOU
You don't need million to transform a life and to make some one happy, you need Love.

We can also serve people beyond our boundaries and our comfort zone, it feels so good to serve.

We all belong to the same God, he is happy whenever we stop looking at ourselves too much but also thinking about others(extend ourselves for others)

Through Serving others we are learning a lot and we are teaching a lot to others as well through our commitments.

People at CAMPS need us in so many different ways, through prayer support, through encouragement, through material support mighty be books ,clothes, toys for kids, stationaries, sponsoring a child etc.
