Enyorata education Youth participation and tourism trust (EEYUPAT) founded in 2011 but registered as a nongovernment organization in July 2012 in the United Republic of Tanzania. “EnYorata” is a Maasai word meaning “Love”.

Enyorata project is responding to the educational needs of Maasai children, as well as to certain skepticism on education that exists within Maasai communities, which stems from imposing formal education models on the communities in the past. The Maasai tribes often see education in the formal sense as a threat to their culture and society. EEYUPAT has seen a need of supporting pastoral child education initiatives in Maasai community as to make a promising future to this young generation.  In Jan 2011 the pre-school initiatives started at Naiti village Monduli District, Arusha northern Tanzania. It’s about 75km from Arusha town.

OUR AIMS are: to improve the livelihood opportunities of Maasai pastoralists by facilitating early child education, to promote and advocate for child rights education, environmental  education (tree nursery/ forest rehabilitation) to address land degradation and natural resources and conservation, self employment creation through cultural Eco-Tourism and Engage youth to participate in economic, social, cultural and scene of future generation leaders, to increase visibility of the true Maasai culture.
