For those of us who want to make a difference in the world this is the right place to start. Lending your time and skills to people in developing countries is hugely rewarding. Our programs combine volunteer work with relaxing breaks so you can have a holiday that is rewarding, invigorating and fun. Isn’t that just what you want from your holiday?
Hope Development Volunteers database offers frequently updated list of upcoming volunteer opportunities in Africa.
Hope Development Volunteers depends on volunteers for much of the work in its programs. We work with volunteers from individuals to big groups of volunteers like families, schools, Universities and church. Some individual volunteers can help our partners with administrative tasks.
You could say that Hope Development Volunteers is a travel agent but the volunteer trips and adventure safaris we organize with our partners are not your average holidays. They bring you to places that are not accessible to average tourists.
By helping local organizations with their projects, you make a difference in the lives of communities served.
Hope Development Volunteers treks create entertaining programs about ordinary people doing extra-ordinary things for their communities. Our stories inspire and empower viewers to get involved and demonstrate that one person can make a difference.
The program:
Hope Development Volunteers offers travel programs that comprise one part volunteer work at an approved charity-related site, and a second part a relaxing stay at any safari or adventureland. Generally this is a 4-week program with approximately 14-21 days volunteer work and the remainder at the adventure-land. The locations of the work and adventures are in different parts of the same country or region.
We offer some air fare options to the destinations, but booking flights is the responsibility of the volunteers themselves.
Volunteers will be given tasks – by an onsite Coordinator related to the partner organization – the day after their arrival. They will be accommodated and provided three meals daily during their placement, but the standards of both may not be at international levels.
Cost:
The approximate cost for a four-week program excluding air fare and adventure tours and trips, is US$350-550, dependent on various factors and this covers accommodation, food and ground support.
Booking:
Simply contact us via the email and we will respond within 24 hours, please note that once accepted into the program, you are required to pay a booking fee of $100.
